Delete your account and data
Rilke works anonymously, without registration. If you chose to sign in with Google or Apple, your progress is linked to an anonymous ID. This is how you delete that account and its data.
Delete in the app — instantly
The quickest way is the app itself: Profile → Account → «Delete account». You first see exactly what will be deleted, you confirm, and it is deleted at once. You don't need to write to us, and you don't even need to be signed in — everything can be deleted anonymously too.
Delete without the app
Already uninstalled Rilke? Send a short email to [email protected] with the subject «Delete account». So that we find the right account, please send it from the email address of your Google or Apple sign-in, or tell us the ID concerned.
What is deleted
- the anonymous account and device ID and its link to your Google or Apple sign-in;
- the learning progress synced to the server;
- texts you sent for AI assessment, as far as we still hold them;
- all data on the device: progress, vocabulary, streak and the assessment history with your texts;
- support messages, unless you ask us to keep them.
If you signed in with Apple, we also revoke the Sign in with Apple token.
Two things to know first: unused purchased assessments are lost, and deleting does not cancel your subscription. A subscription from the App Store or Google Play is cancelled in your store account; one from the web version with «Cancel contracts here».
Deleting in the app happens immediately. After a request by email we delete your data within 30 days and confirm it by email.
Delete only some data
You don't have to delete the whole account. You can also have only some data deleted — for example only the texts you sent for AI assessment — and keep your account. Just say in the same email what should be deleted (your rights under Art. 17 and 18 GDPR).
What we don't hold
- Data on the device (progress, flashcards) is removed when you uninstall the app — in the web version, when you clear the site data in your browser.
- Purchases and subscriptions in the apps are managed by Apple or Google; purchases in the web version by RevenueCat and Stripe on our behalf. Payment records required by law may only be kept within the statutory retention periods.
